hi all/rory , i wouldnt put anything on the forum unless i am %100 certain as you can be with 30+ year old facts, that it is right .yea rory it must have been a mindbender to hear from larry and cheers for the correction.KSA302 does not exist, and a few holes dont mean a thing.Any claimed ex hdt cars, unless they have been authenticated by ian tate /harry firth/frank lowndes, and you are prepared to put the car out there for public scutiny ,are replicas.had a chat with harry recently and even he agreed that a log book doesnt mean the cars genuine, you have to look for all the ex HDT telltales /finger prints/ checkable/confirmed history, which both larry and i have .cheers daz :spoton:

Larry wants me to find the pic of the Macau car bent.....looking! Looking!..That was a bloody lifetime ago!! And I have shit stashed everywhere! I will ask my brother too...he was there with me with Frank. I do remember it was a small fortune to ship a car there and back in 74 so cannot quite see why you would bring one back..especially a total. Funny thing I remember when Moffat took the Floord over..Pete his mechanic, didnt tie it down and by the time it got there the rocking motion of the boat had rooted the shocks on the car all round!..Pete said it was a pretty ugly sight in the handling dept on the first few laps.

I don't want to buy into the whole argument, but here is a photo at Birdwood in 2014. (I assume this is the car you are referring to)?

The only thing I really paid attention to at the time is that it wasn't a 3100X motor. But that is no big deal.

Hi Anthony

That must have been a while ago. When I asked about mine 10 years ago, they only gave info to the registered owner. You must "know somebody"? Have you got the engine number?

Cheers

I am just saying that it is strange that VicRoads (when they held the records) would give out any info to anybody other than the registered owner. I thought that they may have given Anthony the engine number too.

Cheers

funny thing is if this is a race car then why does it have an engine number recorded on vin disc?

as we all know race cars dont get a warranty, yet this car was presented for a service some where

where engine number was recorded

Chassis Number LC 16500-A

I saw this car at a car show,I noticed it was a 1969 body and front end too, with its bump stops, right up the top on the inner guards in place,so did 8/70's have those bump stops too?

No John, the compression bump stops changed to the lower control arms during May 1970.

the sandwich board is contradicting itself, on one side it says the yellow ksa302 car was sourced from the shilton country dealer , and on the other board it says the melbourne dealer reg hunt rhodes confirmed its authenticity as the selling dealer!

so basically the board is saying this ksa302 in this thread  is the linamint xu1 sold by reg hunt rhodes driven by sandra cole and gibson.

am i right mean machine??
