Good to see some movement jnr. Seems like you have most of the panels, now the fun starts. I will be checking back regularly for updates, :D. Good luck, get that little beast back on the road where it belongs.

it's really frustrating sometimes seeing what people have done to good cars in the past when modding them
still you will have great little car after the work is done
good luck with it

It's sad to see my old car chopped up like that but atleast it is going to be used for some good use. Are you using the whole guards or just the guard lips.

Rust in the rear of the car, I didn't see the use in getting it all fixed. I sold the car as a rolling shell with interior, i kept the running gear for my other car if i ever finish it. I think the best part of the car was the front end.

Those front guards still might be useful for someone building a flared circuit car kinda LC/LJ

Nice project, lucky boy hehe I'm sure it will come up nicely; got a fair bit of time to make it good.

Well after being in hiding for the last couple years , we again have some movement on the GTR..

Dan has left school and is working so he can finally afford to do some things to the car. He has purchased a set of new guards from John Gong, they will arrive next week . He has also purchased (last night) two rear quarters. Over the last couple years we have collected most the parts to put the car back together and the plans for completion are for Toranafest 2013

So we are on the look out for a reasonable price panel beater who can fit guards and rear quarters.. So if anyone knows someone please PM me or Dan

Good, those guards were not worthy of a genuine GTR.

His apprenticeship is Motor Body Building?

So much more satisfaction doing it yourself if you can.

good to see that your going to have a go at this car. it's worth it.

i changed the rear quarters  on my GTR and if you need a " how to guide " or advice then give me a pm about the best way to go

with the rear outer skin like this the wheel arch  inners will have to be replaced as well in order to re from the lip - pretty sure it's would have been bashed out.

there's an easier way than taking the whole quarter off BUT you a good panel beater who can join metal.

IF the inners  wheel arches were not touched then you could probably do this.

Anyway good luck with this it can be done.

Well it's been over 12 months and nothing much has happened to this car. So we have decided it's time for it go to a panel shop and be done.

It's booked in and will be heading down to shop in a couple weeks, I think I am more excited than Dan to see this car actually getting finished

I will post some photos of progress as it happens
