Hi All
I'm going to fit a 34 ADM weber from an XF, falcon as it offers a lot of advancement over my 38DGMS weber
My question here is of anybody who has one fitted

What jetting changes or modifications have you done or had done, to the carb to make it work for you
Thanks

I've had both fitted to my 202, the 38DGMS is definitely a step up performance wise over the 34ADM so don't know why you would go backwards unless your concerned about fuel consumption?

I think the 38DGMS is the perfect choice for a healthy 6cyl if your planning on using a 2BBL.

I think the 38 dgms is just too big for a 173. , and I'm thinking the 34 will be better economy with a primary secondary arrangement, as well, the 38 can't compensate for Ac where as the 34 can with the vacuum pot when connected too solenoid will , the 34 offers a fuel returns to prevent hot flooding.
I have dyno run the car a number of times and have the 38 at its best, and the Economy isn't in the ball park to what I think it should deliver, so the 34 will go on and I will set it up on the dyno( handy to have one at work) and see how that goes, my main question is I think the secondary main is too big for a 173 at 2.10mm

Well I have fitted he 34 ADM and I'm stoked, idle is better, no change with electric fan or lights on or off, AC compensates great, and the auto choke is a dream, 2 pumps and instant start and 1000RPM, feels good on the road, I haven't tried it out as yet beyond 3500, I will dyno in the next week and ensure WOT mixture is correct, it will be interesting to see if I have lost any power as it fells good so far.

A couple pictures
Fresh acid cleaned and rebuilt weber
Has gained a few extra lines
Fuel return with 1mm restrict or
Vacuum line from manifold to AC solenoids
Line to AC compensator

Next job set up a factory Air filter and make a cover to hide all the electrics

Can someone tell is that the correct oil filler, that's what the car came with its a 4/74 LH

On the dyno today
10hp gain from 1500 to 2500 then drops to same HP and then drops 5 hp from 3500 up, so I ended up 5 hp down at 4500 rpm
Much better AFR ratios on primary ( 14:1) and a nice fat mixture on WOT ( 13:1 )

Sounds like a good result Brian. Do you use manifold heat? I'm a big fan of it for a daily driver, even if it does reduce the peak a bit. Very tidy engine bay you have there.

I have the manifold heat set at about 1/3 I figure you need some , but then I don't want to have the thermal issues of full heat on the alloy manifold

just fitted one of these to a 202, carb is from a 3.3 xe, so haven't bothered with jet changes, bolted it on, got fuel up, and started straight away, set timing and idle, runs great,

but my carb looks different to yours, ive got a few outlets/inlets that I have no idea what they are, vacuum ones are easy but I have others ahah

motor is only in a stand to play around with it, and im doubt weather its standard
