Me again.
Would you think that the washer in the pic below would be number 42 in the part list? Holden call it a stop in the listing.

I thought that was only the rubber. I'll have another look.

Cheers

Had a look at the LC/LJ 1/4 vent window vid in Rare Spares Shed Talk and yeah it covers the installation of the rubber seal.

Personally I wouldn't remove the glass from the pivots unless absolutely necessary as the glass is glued to the pivots during manufacture.

Simply unscrew the pivot pin from the upper pivot. Remove the retaining nut, washers and spring from the lower pivot.

Next remove the two screws holding the lower pivot bridge bracket, remove the bracket and remove the pivot rotation stop washer and washer.

Next with the 1/4 glass in the open position maneuver the upper pivot from the seal and withdraw the glass (with pivots attached) from the frame and seal.

Remove and replace the seal and assemble in the reverse order and tension up the lower pivot so the breeze won't blow the window shut at 120mph. :)

Fitting new glass Dave, so sorta need to remove the pivots. I bought some used extras, just in case, & interestingly the top pivots are a different size to mine

Yeah that is sort of necessary then hey Tony.  I'd be interested to see some pics of those different size top pivots compared to your originals.

Find someone with midget hands too. Undoing the nut and removing = not so bad. Getting the washers etc back on and doing nut up = sheer frustration!

On closer inspection Dave, the used pivot I had bought has been mushroomed somehow...

Hi, can someone post a pic of the correct position of the pivot stop washer?

Mine were positioned so's the glass opened up to & beyond 90 degrees with the washer not contacting the bracket at all.

So I tried it all 4 ways & when it was stopping against the bracket the glass only opened 50 to 55mm, measured at the lower rear corner.

Is that right?

I watched Rare's Youtube vid & positioned Rare's way but dosn't stop on the bracket, back to where I started.

Also what's the consensis regarding the current Rare's seals? I saw Bombers vid so definately will steer clear of Betta.

The ones fitted don't fit my frame well & should replace them.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.
