Hi

What have people done to accurately replicate the finish of the sound deadner on the underside of the LC and LJ bootlids? My paint guy has tried a couple of methods but is not happy with the result.

And also, it has always been my understanding that the underside of the bonnet does not have any deadner - am I correct?

Cheers

Bazza

Correct, no heavy bituminous material under the bonnet.

Sorry I have no idea what you could use as a suitable substitute for the coating of heavy bituminous material applied during production.

Cheers

Dave.

That heavy bituminious stuff on my LH contained asbestos so I'd be careful how you remove and handle that stuff guys.

Trolling through the Marty Report, came across AntiChip, used inside the bootlid skin.

Hi Jaso,

the anti-chip is rock solid and shows no sign of coming off. Being a different product it does look a bit smoother and more uniform in texture than bitumen. Even though I've seen many different looking bitumen boot bits, from crazy rough to reasonably smooth. I would class yours as fairly smooth.

Have you looked into using something like Raptor coating?
