Gidday all,

I know there's a few places on here catering to custom shirt designs.

Have been having a serious think about starting my own line of custom apparel.

Just wondering whether it's a worthwhile business proposition ? How many people actually buy shirts with toranas on them ? I only ever buy them at toranafest...

I'll chuck up some design ideas I have been playing with a bit later ... Anybody got any favourites they could post up pics of for ideas ?

Cheers :)

If you can come up with a good design it'd likely sell okay, especially if it's a good quality shirt. If you're going to invest in all the set up costs however I'd recommend expanding to other designs, doing corporate work, etc. To make decent money from such a niche market will only be short lived.

you should link up with Jeans for Genes day....we all know you love a Gene..

But seriously, very few shirts seem to have the right graphics....not that I'm even sure what they are?....just that when you see the racks full of them at the tracks or at events, , nothing jumps out as a must have?

The part of this market that is missing is the larger sizes, everything is small, medium, large or X large. Having 2 sons who are over 6 foot tall need shirts 3XL or 4XL to get the length.

As others have said, need more than just Toranas to capture the market and have ongoing sales, good quality shirts are a must.
