Gents,

Can anyone give me a reasonably accurate position of the interior door trim badge location and the method of fixing. I bought a Winners trim set and rare spares badges and wondering what others have done to fix the badge as the pins are quite long. I realise the original badges were probably part of the door skin.

Cheers

Hi Don,

I've measured 6 and a quarter inches from hole centre to edge of GTR Badge and half inch from trim line to bottom of GTR Badge.

As to fixing them, I'm yet to get to that stage.

Good luck and please post your results on here.

Marty

Yeah so now the query is. How do you mount the badge so that the pins don't foul on the door skin?

The pins on the trim badges are shorter than the exterior badges. A flat washer is installed over the pin on the backside of the trim board and the pin is then peened over the washer.

Ok then it sounds like I have the incorrect badges. Does anybody know where to get the correct badges as rare spares thinks they are all the same...

I suspect it will be a matter of shortening the pins on the new badges to make them suit.

You may be able to cut the pins 3mm past the door card , cut a groove around the end of the pin and use a star clip like this.

You cant buy the 'correct' ones for the door cards. And original ones cost a fortune. When you can actualy find them.

On a side note,if you have the "Original" GTR badges rather than grind the rivets off at the back ,cut down the old trim and remove the badges with the rivets still in place ,that way you can refit to your new door trim using circlips .
