Need to replace the carpet in my 72 LJ, and just a bit confused between what Knox Carpets calls their  'Loop' and 'Classic loop'. I just want as close to factory looking carpet as possible but Knox description refers to the loop as "most commonly used in vehicles from the 1960's up until the mid 1980's."   and the classic loop as "the original 80% Rayon and 20% Nylon yarn, it is an exact reproduction of the carpet used by the car makers during 1960’s to 1970’s, including HK-HG Holden, XT-XY Falcon, Valiant"

I'm guessing I need the classic loop?

Also is it a silly idea to want to use my own heel pad on the new carpet? if so how is this done, is it a pain in the a...se to fit your own heel pad?

Ok thanks. I thought that would be the response and $ wasn't dictating my decision.

Dont forget about the handbrake cutout.m8ght have to
send the rear piece to dash original..unsure bro if
you have to mark carpet or they know where to cut it..
Some guys on here would know about that but if no reply
id prolly just give knox a buzz and go from there...

Cheers

I know some might think its weird but I was going to leave the rear carpets as its the original and in good condition. I know if I renew the front the colour difference will be glaringly obvious but trying my hardest to leave the original patina of this car unless it is absolutely necessary to refurb.

I had my handbrake hole sorted by an auto trimmer ,they should all be able to do them ,depends how fussy you are.
