This is the switch in the column of an LX:

Pull the steering wheel off the car, and check continuity across the (momentary) switch as you pull on the lever, to see if that's the problem.

Check that the wires have not broken off it, they are only soldered on, and those wires vibrate/move around as you turn the indicators on and off, etc. I have actually had those connections fail in the past and fixed it by trimming the wires and re-soldering. That specific area is a weakness of the Torana electrical system in my opinion, but it's done so that it's compact I suppose.

It would also be possible for the latching headlight relay switch thing (located in the engine bay if it hasn't been hidden somewhere else) could have failed, but I wouldn't even look at that before checking the first area.

If it is in fact the switch and not the relay mate, Mick from Torana Restoration parts and accessories sells them.

Beat me to it H. :D

Recently fitted one of those replacement rs' switch. had same problem with getting it to go on off dip so had to do some bending and scraping or something like that to make it do fit.
Had plenty of time to do it while waiting for those tiny screws to arrive from OS - could not find them anywhere local!
