I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the id numbers on top of a ww2 carb mean. They read as follows, 23 3045 and underneath that is is 1 39. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

In the Bendix book, 23-3045 is listed as HQ 253 Auto. The 1-39 is the date code, in this case 1 is 1971 and 39 is the 39th week of that year.

If you are looking for a LC GTR carby the numbers to look for are...

23-3041 = 161S GTR
23-3048 = 173S GTR

Grant (gm3300) - could you post a list of the codes for WW's and possibly some other Strommy's?
The Bendix book lists jet sizes as well, which may come in handy to anyone after a larger jetted carb.
The Ford WW's are all bigger.

23 is Holden.

Photobucket won't let you save anything other than an image, I don't think.

Well, I got sent another 1....a 2-3120....(XW/ZC-XY/ZD 302ci 70-71) :fool:
Anyone got a pic of a GTR carby, without the aircleaner on top at all? Is the bolt in the carby or the air cleaner base?

Phantom10, i just bought a ww stromberg off ebay. it was advertised as being off a 4.4ltr leyland P76, it came with factory air cleaner, anyway the numbers are cast on the side like yours. 2376511 3 16 and on the top of housing it has A2 3 18, and in the diamond shape 213
so i gather its date is april 73. its strange they start with 23 being holdens code.
