Dont know if there has been a speil on this sorta thing yet but im just curious if anyone here gets into Nitro/ Electric RC, in particular, 1:10. Would be good to get a few pics up of other forumers' cars that (to scale) guzzle more fuel than their torries!

Anyway this is mine. Himoto Rapida pro. .18cu body was taken from a toy ferarri cos its strong plastic. Also just got some new CNC mach. alloy rims. New air filter and exhaust header are coming soon too  .

i used to race my Yokomo MR-4TC 1:10 scale electric at castle hill, then on an indoor carpet circuit in hurstville yearrrrs ago, then i raced a Mugen Seiki MTX-3 1:10 nitro in 2 speed pro class at penrith. i used to do my own engine porting :) i had a $300 OS .12 (2cc) which i ported that would not idle at all, but had heaps of top end. was quicker than a mates $700 SH .21 (3.5cc) bad thing was a tank of fuel lasted about 4 mins :) instead of about 10mins. those were the days.
my latest project is my RC torana on my old Yokomo race chassis

whoa. Yep mines an SH engine. What did you use to actually port it? Dremel?

yeah a dremel with a tungsten carbide cutter, after a few tanks of fuel, if u take out the piston liner you can see marks the fuel leaves up to the ports, then you just grind a little away. best thing to do is to just smooth the ports, not carve the s**t out of them like i did haha.

just make sure u cut a hole in the front and rear windows so you get some airflow through the cooling head

My Porsche engine is in more pieces than my Chev engine

$wd shaft driven , disc brakes
was a .15 engine but I'm going to stuff a .21 in with 2 speed :)

Makes sense. I might have a go at that then. Was also thinking of making a scoop on the engine side of the body window so that the air *gushes* into the cooling head and air filter

This is one of my toys, its a 1:10 REX-X 4wd, .21 nitro motor.

about the only thing i've done to it is a better air filter and some new rims and tyres .... at the moment its off the road as one of the diffs is grinding and i just couldn't be stuffed pulling 3/4 of the car apart to get it out :)

i also have this

it was going well, and then it nose dived over a small wave and broke the rear section ... it was repaired but its never been the same since then .... i might fix it one day .... but i also bought a much bigger Vee hull and i am toying with a whipper snipper in it and basically my first attempt at a full kit out (its just a bare hull) so one day :)

i also bought a cheap Vee off ebay and it has just been a waste of time from day one :)

This is mine
Hobao Hyper 10
Pretty stock, just done a little bit here and there.
I have a LH body for it, but am ordering the new 'Torana' body soon (the mangenta 2006 one)
I am also thinking of buying something like a hyper 8 or similar, but would really like to step up to something like a Baja 5b (1/5th scale), but somehow I dont think the mrs will let me have that sort of money!

i had a 1/5th scale off road buggy. it was great fun. cheap on fuel as the 1/5 scales have the 23cc 2 strokes. with the knobby tires on the back it tore the shit out of nature strips :)

Muz-Get a Venom smart temp-or just temp gauge-about $50 they have digital readout-try to tune to 115 degrees celsius-any hotter just wearing out the motor
(Up to 165 degrees-racing-get new-piston sleeve-expensive)-always have air filters ready-pre oiled and squeezed-change evert 2-3 tanks-offroad-
you will enjoy-i could rave for hours

Yeah, it is aluminium, and was anodised blue.
Took to it with some oven cleaner to remove the blue, wet n dry a few times and buffed it.
I reckon it came up well, and it looks different

Ive got an RC10GT 1:10 I think it is.

I used to have a 1:5 scale FG Beetle with the 23cc 2 stroke engine. It was pretty awesome. It weighed like 7 or 10 Kg or something like that and was pretty dangerous if you lost control, especially in a car park.

Mine had a K&N filter and tuned pipe, I actually made a stright pipe with no muffler. It had knobby tyres and also widened slicks.
I painted it yellow with 2 black stripes so it looked like the BBBBAD Torana except I called it the BAD BUG. lol.

I actually took it onto the strip at Willowbank one time when I was racing up there and Brett Stevens and the Jack Daniels crew came over to have a look. It would smoke up the tyres even.

On dirt the car is totally controllable like a real car and rooster tails and flicks out showers of rocks like you would not believe.

Actually accidently run myself over one day with it, lost my sense of direction as it was coming toward me and knocked me off my feet.

If you like model cars you gotta get one of the big scale cars for sure.

Also there are some clubs that drag race RC cars, pretty awesome some of them. Especially jet cars.
