gday
wanting to know if the weld on alloy fitting for the fuel sender LH torana on a drop tank are a available or does anyone know the measurements or have a diagrams,pictures of the weld on alloy fitting so i could get it made.
any help would be great

Just recieved an email from Brown Davis and they wont sell one :dontknow:

but I'm not giving up, some one will have them.

I used the original LX torana fuel level sender. Im not too sure on the fit up as I got the tank made. But there is a welded ring that the sender mounts too. Profab is Wollongong made the tank.

Paul, i have a damaged tank lying around somewhere. Alluminium.
It still has the welded on boss for the fuel sender.

There is a VDO sender that can be bolted into the top of the drop tank and calibrated to suit the Torana fuel gauge.

Hi Andy, Yeah I have seen those but was hoping to be able to use the original sender, only because that was the way it was done (old School).

not at at all.

about $77 he told me.if u are prepared to wait,till they make some.more if u want do straight away.they have to tool up for it

atm they have, to have a tank made in 4 weeks.so ill have one inside 4 weeks.if any one wants one,nows the time.

Mmm, maybe I need to measure and draw up that bit next time the tank is out. I don't think there is a whole lot to them.

Yeah the only problem I have with making one is the part where the sender/pickup twists and locks in.
If I could see one or a photo of one, I'm sure I could have a fair o'll crack at making one.

I just used a universal sending unit style one...drill one larger hole and 5? holes drilled and tapped to hold the sending unit down (on the top of the tank is where I mounted mine) works great. (it was adjustable for different tank depths too)

Yeah, that's what I was going to do Jeff, but then heard stories about them not being comparable with the standard gauge, so I just used the original sender. :-)
