Hi All,
Apparently Rarespares no longer stock the upper and lower bushes / bearings to suit an LC Steering Column. Does anyone know of some alternative suppliers, that I can source these bushes/bearings from?

  • Are they not the same as the LH-LX-UC thats been covered... inc modding for regularly available bearings (lower) ?
What are the LC bearing numbers ?

Later ones are 7805700 + 7800269

Top bearing should be the same as hk-g kingy or something from rares...as for the bottom bush that was NLA many years ago.I ended up getting a buyingnolathane type suspension bush & having it turned down in a lathe by Dr Terry few years ago.

This thread shows the size of the lower bearing.

I am sure someone made one in the last couple of weeks and posted pics - buggered if I can find the thread though.

Hmmm - I thought it was an LC/LJ one I saw recently but I might be going crazy - no guarantees there.

I know this has been covered many times but i just came up with a different solution to replace the LC lower steering column nylon bush. The upper steering shaft bearing (which is easy to buy) has the same ID as the lower steering shaft. The OD diameter of the bearing is approx 1mm larger than the steering column tube, all i did was linish the outer shoulders of the bearing and fitted it into end of tube. I also inserted the existing nylon bush (which wasn't badly worn) behind the bearing which gives the steering shaft additional support.
