Putting a V8 into a LJ Torana

So I've been searching online, and as of 1 May 2013, the National Code of Light Vehicle Construction and Modification (NCOP) is no longer valid.  I'm wondering if there is another system that's going to come into play, or you just can't do major modifications, like putting a 308 in a LJ torana, anymore.  From what I've seen so far, the only way I'll be able to achieve this is buy a pre-modified one that's already passed the now redundant NCOP.  And as soon as people realise this, the asking price will go up, presuming I can find one for sale in the first place.  If anyone could point me in the right direction of any information about this would be greatly appreciated.

So what your saying is register it with a 253, do the swapsies 308/355 combo and accidentally fall onto the machined block while holding number stamps.......

Sure a 253 can run 10's :-)
