it could be the car the Bowdens had for a while, the Stanley car, but it's been changed a lot

.
Don't think its the Stanley car Red , why would you change the master cylinder as it had an IH type .let alone the extra webers and bonnet mod.
The Stanley car had a GMP&A shell , this one has 3 tags .

Yes, I picked up on that earlier, I just figured someone may have added tags. Not to mention the Bowdens spent a lot of time making the car presentable, if thats the same car it's gone downhill a lot. It's also got tan trim and the chrome strips around the windows. There was one the same for sale a few years ago the guy claimed was a genuine GMP&A but couldn't tell me which team car it was, then he told me he had been racing it only in the last few years and written it off and had to reshell it. So exactly whats left?   I don't believe it is or ever has been a group C car from what I can see in those pictures.

Red , I do have some pics of the Stanley car , from when the bowdens owned it , just need to find , I,m sure it used to have 10x15 hotwires also . anyway if its the car your right , a lot of the original stuff has gone.

hey Al  , thanks for sharing the great pics , and good to see the boys out with them and not garage queens .

No worries White A9X

Next time I will take a photo of the boards better, if the yellow A9X turns up again will get more pics of it etc, bit hard on the day, as baby needs have to be met, and was a very warm day in Hobart, so had to keep bub out of it best I could, cause of that, I didn't spend 100% of the time to suss the cars properly, will lift my game next time REDA9X  :)

No, it doesn't, however only a certain number of GMP&A race shells were made, and only a certain number of people drove them. It's not hard to pull up the results from every group C race between september 1977 and the end of 1979 to know who drove A9X Toranas around the country. Combine that with the cars we already know still exist, and those we know are well and truely gone and then you have a few people popping up around the place claiming to have cars. These things are worth good money these days, so it pays to do your reseach before you hand over your hard earned cash. Anyone can paint a car up and take it to car shows and say it's Brocks race car from bathurst, but once you start making money from it, thats fraud.

Yeah, thats them, but I'm sure it was originally ordered for Stanley in Tasmania, hence the yellow colour.

Red I am positive over the years that you have some form of spider sense much like Spiderman except with A9X Torana's. Every-time someone starts one or moves one Red's senses go into overload and that deep James Earle Jones voice over that Red hears whenever an A9X is moving -  Use the Force Red - Talk to that A9X get her side of the story, use the Force young Red.

I am sure he might actually hidden video on all A9X's.

Now its just getting a little too creepy. LOL

just flicking through the thread and thought I might add to the yellow A9X hatch speculation, my father was a salesman at the Motors Dealership in Launceston in the 60's through to the 90's and remembers the yellow hatch being sold to the original owner who was an insurance rep and he purchased it to use as an everyday road car and as a reps car he ran up a lot of kms on it, he knows the original owner and others who have owned it after him and one of them bought the car twice, he also knows who the sales person was that sold it new, it is a genuine A9X hatch and was registered for the road from day one, it is not a GMP&A, hope this helps clear the mud

On the Board that was there for the car, it said Group C, unless I read it wrong and it was Group C spec, Motors Hobart sold a brand new A9X Hatch in the same yellow as the one in these photos, so might be the same car
