Hey all,

Anyone restore these old plates,

not really fussed about the enlarged holes, it has surface rust, need it stripped back & repainted,

all info or links would be grateful,

TIA

 

not liking the fonts on the newer style B/W plates,

You should be able to get them remade

I suspect he has bought replacement rego plates but doesn't like them, and I don't blame him. The font is nothing like the original plate.

 

I don't know the rules regarding rego plates in VIC but it is illegal in QLD to repaint your rego plates, at least it used to be 30 years ago.

It's only wrong if you get caught. The old style plates weren't reflective from memory, so it wouldn't be hard to scan the plates to make masks and have them done.

Well, i have 2 sets, new replacements & the older original ones, front one is a bit tired looking to get it redone  B)

Funny in NSW if the original plates haven't been handed in they will not re-issue the same numbers. Don't want two copies of the same plates out there.

New plate from Vic Roads would be the top one.

The white lettering is reflective where as the original plate isn't.
