Hi all, As the title suggests I am looking for options on double adjustable shocks to suit my LJ. I am not interested in Koni adjustable etc. I am looking for good, affordable shocks I can adjust comp and rebound with to suit the stock LJ mounting points please. Does anyone know what is available as above? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Greg Nowland at Suspension Concepts has all this stuff..he has a range of good quality stuff, Spax shocks etc. Gets it valved etc to suit your application.

Has been around for ages, does heaps of race cars etc and does it on his ear. They are on the NSW Central Coast.

He  did my LJ prior to Bathurst last year and it made a huge difference.   Steve ( Dodgey) on here knows Greg well, and may chime in....

Suspension Concepts can meet all your above requirements using Spax shocks and King springs i.e. adjustable for damping and rebound (28 clicks each) and locate to original mounting points. Or they would be happy to discuss other shock alternatives.

Give Greg Nolan a call on 0414 244 790

Steve

Note: Please be aware I have a financial interest in the business 'Suspension Concepts'

I don't actually work in the business.

Last year I decided to partner Greg Nolan in his existing Suspension Concepts and fund a move to bigger premises and an expansion of the services offered.

My son Tom now works in the facility with Greg and apprentice Rob.

Drop in anytime and say hello.

Steve

How much do you want to spend?
And what are you actually doing with the car? City driving, drags, circuit, tarmac rallying.
Do you want to do it just good enough or do you want to do it propperly?

These are what you need to answer first before spending money.
These will dictate the final outcome.
Have used DMS, were/are good.
About to order some top shelf MCA's for a circuit car.
Seen/felt proflex in full flight rally car, awesome.

Better off sticking to a monotube shock, they actually run hotter BUT have better control than a twin tube style.
Twin tubes are hard to find a balance in settings between high and low shaft speed bumps.

I know you have specified that you are not interested in the Koni adjustables, but I can provide you with my perspective on the Koni classic adjustable oil shocks which I chose for my XU1. My suspension in the car is as per factory with no upgrades, so I wanted a shock that was as close to factory specs as I could find and the Koni's nailed it. The fronts are fully torqued up to the hardest setting and she rides beautifully on the road. Not to hard and not to soft!

I just bought the Koni's. I was going to ask if anyone had any settings. So front as hard as possible. Any recommendations for the back shocks?. Cheers Mark.

I initially had my fronts medium but was far too soft so I turned them to maximum which in an oil shock is nice and firm, but doesn't rattle your teeth like gas shocks do. My rears are still medium I think.
