Can anyone tell me what the black knob under the aerial socket on the rear of the air chief radio is for? I have seen pictures of other unit's with this part attached. The one I have is missing this part, is this part critical to the operation of the radio? any info appreciated. Cheers in advance.

Seem to recall its the mast height adjuster for the electric aerial but can't find proof of it. Will see if I can dig up a manual.
