Hey Torana lovers

I've got a few questions about the outer sill on a 2 door LJ. I've removed mine, the originals were cut back and welded over with some sort of replacement skin. Ive bought the rare spares outer that includes the A pillar, and have unpicked whats left of the old sill.

I'm wondering if the sill shape/profile is consistent for the entire length, or does it change towards the rear wheel arch?

Could anybody help out with a photo showing the detail where the sill joins at the front of the quarter panel, I believe the rares panel is 10mm shorter, but as mine was bastardised, I don't know how it should look. is it smooth the entire way or does it show as a join?

What have people done to replace the sill in front of rear wheel arch/bottom of rear quarter? I was thinking of getting the basic rares sill and cutting it to fit to continue the sill right through.

I've had a look through a few build threads but can't quite get the angle or details that I'm after.

Even went to the recent Cairns swap meet to have a looksy, unfortunately not a single 2 door LC/LJ was in sight.

Thanks heaps for any advice

Bryan, I think if you check "The Marty Report" in members projects and plans page 4, post 97 may give you some answers.  Talks about the varying width and some pics.  Cheers Ron

Ok thanks mate, I figured there must be some pics in a thread somewhere. Mike Catts has heaps of great info in his, but just couldn't quite see the detail I was chasing

Cheers

Thanks heaps Shadey

So it is obviously smooth on the outside, would you have a pic with the door open where the quarter panel meets the sill around the scuff plate area.I'm not sure how the join there should look, as in is it smooth right to the scuff plate, this is all I have of the original sill

Cheers
