Hi All, just wondering if anyone has used one of these rare spares front stabiliser/sway bar bush kits? Have a few questions as follows:
1) Do these really fit the Torana 22mm sway bar? Looks like a very tight fit, the old D clamp rubber has a bigger hole but then again they are worn out.

2) The old rubber for the D clamp had a split in it on the flat part so you can fit it over the bar. The new ones don’t have a split so how do you fit them onto the bar? Doesn’t really look like the sway bar ends will fit through as they are wider than the round part of the bar.

3) Will it matter that the new out rigger bar/pin is slightly shorter than the original (the red one in the picture).

Cheers for any and all replies!
Mick

Mick
The hole should be exact same diameter no smaller than the bar. If it measures up I would just cut the rubbers with a razor blade per the originals.

The pins will be okay but what’s wrong with the originals? Shorter is better if you are lowering front springs generally speaking.
Cheers
Clay

Clay, just on the D clamp bushes I bought a set for my WB and thought the same thing about the "non" split, until I took it out of the packing.  They just seem to sit tight and not easy to see.  I'd be surprised if they weren't split. Cheers Ron

Just had a close look again, definitely not split.

Nothing wrong with the original pins that I can see, didn’t realise the bushes themselves come in a set that’s all.

Just spoke to rare spares, guy I spoke to wasn’t completely sure with the Torana bushes but he did say with other rubber ones he has used, you cut them yourself. So they don’t come split.

The only issue I have seen with the rares ones is they dont seem to have the two bits of rubber that extends from bush that go into the actual swaybar ends and isolate the hole in the actual sway bar ends from the actual post like the original ones did and some of the other ‘nolathane’ ones do

just bought and fitted that rare spares kit and had no problems with it .

no need to split the bar mounts just lube them up with soapy water and slide them on over the bar ends
