Auto or manual

I picked up a V8 trimatic out of a WB and was considering putting the auto in. Is this something you would do? Would the manual be a more appealing match if I sell it in the future and most importantly what would be nicer for a street car?
Thanks
Richard

It's all about what you want and like forget the resale.

Hi Richard. As Danny said it's all about what you want. I have a WB with a 253 and 4 speed manual. I really enjoy driving it but in traffic I'm getting a bit old for all the clutch work, and it isn't the smoothest of rides. I will be putting a T400 in the Torana and that will be just as cool too and more of a cruisey type. Cheers Ron

^ its all about how heavy the clutch will be as to the long term driving pleasure.

My car is not finished but is manual, if after 5 years of driving it I am tired of the clutch work I might put an auto in but for now I want a manual as I remember enjoying the manual in my first Torana 20+ years ago.
Although not finished I have driven my car briefly a few times, the clutch is heavy but I haven't noticed when driving as I am excited about driving my Torana. I notice when I get back in my daily and it feels like the clutch has failed as it is so much lighter than the Torana.
I think it is good to consider where you will be driving if you are unsure what you want, my regular commute is not enjoyable in any car and when I can afford to upgrade my daily it will be an auto but I hope to never drive my Torana in the same Sydney commuter traffic so am happy for it to be manual.
If you're going to commute in your Torana maybe make it an auto if the traffic is bad.
Is cost an issue?
A good 5speed conversion could be more expensive than a T700
Hope it's an easy decision,

I should have also pointed out that my WB is my daily driver so it does get a lot more use than the Torana will. Whatever decision you make you wont be disappointed. Cheers Ron

Personally think that a nice car needs 3 driving pedals.
My current car is auto, but my preference has always been for a manual.
I think Toranas should follow the racing heritage and be manuals as well.
But that is my own personal thoughts, and I dont care whether or not you believe the same.
First and foremost, it is YOUR car, so you make the decisions.
And dont take any criticism from anyone who doesnt like YOUR choice.
Cheers
Rob
