shit ....... must be a disease going round as l just bought  1 too  , 1969 series 2 mk2 lotus cortina that's been a racer for much of it's life but has been road registered  so race bits will be removed and car put back on the road some time in the  future . l have always liked mk2's and l can only ever remember seeing  2 on the road  here ( plus others set up as race cars )  in my 45 years of driving  . One of them was  for sale at a car sales in the middle of Palmerston North  for an outrageously  monstrous $3500 , but l passed it by  and went round the corner and spent an even more outrageously  monstrous $4700  for my very first  xu1 torana .

Went down to see the decal guy on Sunday he got creative with photoshop but going for something like this with a few more decals on the rear roof and bonnet

Get #@$^%& gene lol.... yeah it’s the shopping list for Pauls new Torrie haha...it’s going to be a little different from most mk1’s that’s for sure....I’m looking at putting a Toyota 4agze supercharged engine in it with a 5 speed box 😀

Hope it’s okay to steal your build thread with a few pics of my F@rd Cortina.

In the trailer the day I bought it, gold stripes to make it a little bit sporty and we took the engine out to get a check over and repsray the engine bay.

Maybe this could become the small F@rds thread ;)

Great Liz, love the Mk1 Cortina. You only need a gold roof to replicate the famous Alan Mann Cortina racing colours from the mid 60s.
