Dear Torana friends,

i wonder if someone is meanwhile manufacturing tailpipes what fits around a 9" rear end ?

Would be great in stainless steel.

I saw on a American Hot Rod show about a CNC pipe bending machine  that did exactely copys of a flexible pipe what was fit to the car before. Great tech!

Cant find this video anymore .

Uwe

I bought the pre-made tail pipes off ebay twin 2.5 and had them slightly modified to fit over the 9 inch. I then wrapped them in fibreglass wrap  in case they rub or hit anywhere and also to keep heat from the fuel tank

Hey Uwe,

Had mine done at a shop. One side is a little lower than the other. Drives me crazy lol.

I’ve done one with the pipes run under the diff, worked great.

Being a two door, think you could face them down before the diff ? Had this in a HQ 5ltr. Sounded tuff

I went under the diff with mine,  works great.

I got the exhaust shop to put a bolt in joiner just after the muffler so if I want to jack it up from the body and let the diff dangle I just unbolt the pipes from the back of the muffler.

Mine are like Rays, over the diff with a 9", made from lots of mandrels glued together, about 9 pieces per side from memory, and also with a bunch of flanges like Matt mentioned so it can easily be pulled apart, at the back of the extractors, front of the mufflers, back of the mufflers.
