I remember as a 15 yo, dads mate who was a new car salesman at Motors Hobart bought home a brand new VB auto sedan and let me drive it along a deserted beach in southern Tassie when we went camping. I couldn't believe how easy it was to drive, and how smooth it was compared to the H series cars etc that I was used too. Mind you none had power steering like the commodore.

Video here of why the yanks think the Commodore failed. It's also interesting to see the extra kit they got on them.
