Vacuum booster identification.

Hopefully one of the numbers experts can help identify a booster. I need a bit more brake pedal pressure. When my daughter drives the Slr she complains the doesn't think it's going to stop. It only has a single diaphram uc booster and want to put a dual diaphram unit in. Yesterday I picked up a second hand booster from a vr commodore. It has vh512 A17 k4 stamped onto the front housing. It this a duel diaphram unit.

that booster is VB-VR Commodore double diaphram

Thanks for the link VZ_60 that's the info I was after. I looked for ages on the inter web and couldn't find the correct info to confirm I had the right booster for the conversion. The confusion started when the guy at the wreckers told me some VN-VR commodores had the deep rear booster section but were actually single diaphram. Dependent if it was a UTE or wagon when they had ABS, reckons it changed the internal configuration. It sounded like a he might have be speaking through his exhaust but needed to confirm and disregard this crap he was spinning.

 

Anyway shortened the rear pushrod to suit the Torana peddle and wacked it on as is and worked a treat. Don't need much peddle effort to get it to pull up now. The wife and my daughter are suitably impressed. They just expect these old cars to pull up like there late model daily drivers these days.
