On the LC Torana GTR XU1 Homologation form 1/2e there is a picture of a gearbox sitting on the ground. Anyone know what it is?

Hint: It is not a GMH M20.

The reproduction of the Homologation form in the Fiv Antoniou GTR XU1 book is not the best quality.

Sorry, I'm not going to put up a scan of the page from the book and potentially breach copyright.

Spot on Simon.

It is an OPEL M20 4spd. The very transmission the GMH XU1 M20 was replacing.

Cheers

Dave.

Agree, you'd think they would have taken a pic of an actual GMH M20 4spd so it was truly representative of the new transmission referred to in the Homologation form.

Then again the LJ XU1 pictured on the LJ XU1 Recognition Forms isn't an XU1 and the picture of the rear axle assy is early LC with the tall bump stop rubbers, not LJ at all.

At the end of the day, who really gave a toss?

Probably only gave a toss, on the special xu1 gearbox & diff build days, "apparently"
