The cover itself will be the same pressing as a 202 of the same era.

This did change however from '2 hole' to '3 hole' around September 1973. This was to allow for the sealed PCV breather return to the air cleaner.

The chrome rocker caver at the bottom in this pic is the type you will be looking for.

Replace the 3300 with 2850S decal and the strip at the front with XU1 gets replaced with a plain black strip.

When did they change from the tall PCV fitting to the lower design ?

I always believed it was early HQ (late 71/early 72).

Early November 1972 was when the changeover occurred.

No, the low rise chrome rocker cover in your pic is the new version that was released into production in Nov 72. The correct type of rocker cover for your LC is the bottom one with the 3300 XU1 transfer in the pic I posted.

The pic from Fiv's book is not correct, wrong oil cap, has a fan spacer fitted which isnt fitted, valve cover decal is a dealer option and the air cleaner had a decal same as 2600s but only had stripes and no 2600s
