Hi

I have been given a photo of my car from back in the 80s, showing the number plate.
The plate is Victorian, is there a site which i could use to confirm the chassis number against that old number plate?

Cheers

Ken

Vic roads might help if you call them. Some vehicles had the engine number recorded rather than chassis back then so try both if you can.

The Association of Motoring Clubs (AOMC) have the old Vicroads card records and could do a search for you. There is a small fee involved.

They say they require an engine number for the search. No engine number = No search.

Dave l didn't have the engine number for my SLR/5000 and the AOMC did a card by card search for me based upon the engine number of a 5000 produced in the same month.

At the time (Sept 2007) l was corresponding with Phillip Johnstone of the AOMC who couldn't have been more helpful. The AOMC search did produce a result which provided the

original registration number, date of first registration and the engine number.

Yes you provided Phillip with an engine number that would or could be within an engine number range suitable to your vehicle.
