Fuel tank dent removal

Hi All, Just curious on removing a big dent in my fuel tank ,I've done it with air pressure and heat on dirt bike expansion chambers but not fuel tanks ,any one got any idea's that worked for them ?? TIA 

Hi Chrisso.  I had a few dents in mine and ended up taking it to a radiator place and they split it, fixed the dents cleaned inside and resealed and checked.  Cheers Ron

Cheers ,I've just put some air pressure into it & have removed the large portion of the dent quite easy ,but to get the creases out I think the radiator shop is the go, thanks again

Hey Chrisso, when I got mine done, they just cut the hole in the top, done what was required ect. Weld never to be seen unless I drop the tank. Rainman

Split the tank is the only way if you don’t want to use too much filler

I got mine fixed by a spot weld dent puller.

I have a easy beat great for fuel tank dents.

Years ago, well some where around 1980, I was fixing some small pinhole rust holes in the top of my LC tank. The top was also very dished because of the usual weight from years of stuff being dropped onto the boot. Drained it, left it out in the sun for a week to gas off and used an oxy to weld them up. Didn't want to put water in it too check for leaks so poured in some paint thinner. It showed up a couple of spots I missed so without thinking I lit up the oxy to fill them and the resulting explosion not only scared the poo out of me but wonders of wonders, had blown the dished tank top flat again! Oh to be young and bullet proof again!

Radiator places can hot tank & flush it so will be safe afterwards to easy beat,pdr or weld/dolly safely

Heard of some welders/fabricators hook up car exhaust into a tank for 20-30mins then weld them up...thought that was a myth untill saw Dominator of StreetOutlaws do it on fb clip lol
