My name is David Santamans from Spain. I'm a classic car collector and also I write articles about classic cars from time to time (mainly about Maserati).
Right now I'm researching information for an article about export LHD Holden, as some cars were sold in Spain in the late 60's and 70's.
I have been able to trace information about 15 cars:
1969 HK Kingswood sedan
1969 HK Premier
1969 HB Torana
1969 Monaro
1969 HR Special
1970 HT Kingswood HT02806A
1973 LJ Torana, seven cars, ALJ02187A, ALJ02188A, ALJ02189A, ALJ02190A, ALJ02191A, and two unknown vin
1976 LX Torana, three cars, only onw vin know ALX004710M
There's a way to know more information about how many cars were exported and to wich countries?
I have seen information about some cars in Greece and Israel.
Thanks,
David Santamans

Wow, an interesting research topic David.
Hope you unearth some amazing stuff. Wonder if of the cars you list still survive?

Here are the 1966 export territories as of March 1967. This was just a random sheet in a big folder of promotional stuff in GMH archives. There may be more stuff in there but I never saw it. This was in the same archive folder as I found the HQ-WB Statesman totals. It looks like there was a "next page" by the text at the bottom, it appears they were intending to list the assembly plants that assembled vehicles for LHD territories. It doesn't list Spain but some of those territories may have been Spanish dependencies?
Those cars you have listed are CHASSIS numbers not VIN numbers. The VIN will be on the skinny ID plate for cars after the end of 1967, and there will also be a BODY plate which is a bigger plate. Prior to 1968 there was a little plate held by 2 x screws with a number on it, this is the early version of the PSN which later appears as the end of the VIN. After 1/1970 there was also a Safety Compliance plate but these will not be on GMH product built for export.

Jose Canga of the French Hell Drivers was Spanish, so maybe it was those guys. Left hand drive LJ Torana's and right hand drive LH Torana's.

I can't find any pics with a Spanish reference. The closest I could find was cars being loaded onto the Italian Reefer which I assume was heading to Europe. (Belmont with 5.0 litre, bucket seats, and Air-Con)

The only other spanish connection are the LHD cars built in the Philippines.
