The font used is a more surefire way of telling. Not all metal stamps are created equal.

Ive posted the link as pics were to bug to attach
Chassis rail lips have been chopped so number is alot closer to edge now
All the plates match the details in the owner certificate
My late father brought this car back in early 2000s running an injected 5 litre
He past couple years back qnd i inherited the vehicle
Iam in the process of repainting the engine bay
But was contemplating selling the vehicle
As i also have an unflared lh he gave me and its just not viable to have 2 toranas
I was after some sort of validation on the chassis number
Yes its an slr 5000 but the original engine is long gone

If I was only examining the numbers....And I am 1000% not an expert.... I would say that the M's are different as well.

Correct, every letter and number are slightly different to the GMH stamping but the 3 really kicks you in the eyes.

What is the compliance date on the car?

Ive stripped the front rad support and it was green under the black where as the rest of under bonnet was papya under the black it was painted
So im assuming it was in a front ender at some point of its life
Im not worried at this point as ive decided my heart is in this car and so was my old boys
So my lh will be sold
Everything else on this car says it def has its original body
It was brought off its 2nd owner back in early 2000s back then it was brought for 5k and has flares etc so originality was never a concern
And with all the mods currently im not concerned either
I thought it may have been worth hunting down the original motor etc qnd putting back to original
But if the chassis number is questionable

As long as the number is correct for that body, it's not really an issue until you want to sell. The price will have to be adjusted accordingly, but if you get photos of the green radiator support panel to show the repair then it shouldn't be a problem.
