Shiney005 60B was used fairly limited but I have seen a few on early Lx SS , it’s certainly not a one of,

60B is chamios with chevron cloth inserts ( which is extremely hard to find ) the B is for black parts the dash amd console and black carpet on the floor and bottom of door trims: the only covert was on the door trim inserts

The B doesn’t really mean black. 60A on a Holden (other than base commercial or Belmont sedan/wagon) is Chamois/Black which has black carpet, black carpet on door trims etc. From memory on a Holden 60B is the same thing with cloth inserts, the insert material depends whether it is Kingswood, Premier, GTS etc. On the base commercial or Belmont passenger 60A was simply called beige. It was the same earlier in HJ Holden where 60V was Chamois/Covert on Kingswood, Premier and GTS or just beige on the low spec cars. The cloth insert version had another code like 60X or 60Y. None of the letters means covert.

Yes thanks yel327   I probably shouldn’t have put it that way,   like you said chamois/black with the cloth inserts

Hi Brad as I have mentioned I have the -60y and my mother in law (original co owner of the the car) says the trim on the seats was a Herringbone Cloth, I have included pics in a new thread started today. I also have the LH parts catalogue which indicates the -60Y as fitted to LH VD Models, in that they break down the trim strangely does not include seats, or the Bar and  Actuating horn which I can confirm is Black: See Below. Also you will notice in the pics attached in my other post, the seat insert which I believe is Herringbone is different to the door panel insert, I will get a close up of that door insert and post.

Hi All.  My body tag (LX Hatch) lists the trim as 60A which I understand to be chamois and black vinyl.  The pic below is the front seat trim which appears to be a dark blue (maybe faded black) velour and the door and other trims are chamois.  The rear seat is all chamois.  I'm not really fussed but curious as to what I have, which doesn't seem to be original.  As a side issue I have been speaking to a couple of trimmers and getting confused.  Some prefer to fit readymade seat covers (provided they are from a good source) and some prefer to make from scratch.  Then some makers only do seats and not the other trim components.  If I go the ready made route, how do you ensure that the other trim components are the same colour match if that makes sense. Lastly anyone know a trimmer that does custom head-linings eastern suburbs Melbourne.  I have a Monaro sunroof in the car (don't ask me why). I spoke with Bill Mayne who is super busy at present but suggested if I find someone make sure they have done one before (sounds simple lol).  Cheers Ron

60A is either Beige in low spec stuff or Chamois/Black in your case. It means chamois trim with black dash and carpets plus black carpet on the base of the door trims, at least that is how it is in Holden, Torana can sometimes be slightly different. There are plenty of suppliers for whole covers, I picked all my HK stuff up when I was in Adelaide last. Pretty sure it was Winner. Here is an example but for 67X:
http://www.winnerpro...AN-GOLFBALL-67X

Others here may have bought 60A hatchback trim elsewhere that they can recommend.

Here is a 60B door trim, 60A will be similar, from memory 60B has a cloth insert:

Thanks Yel. I should have mentioned I'm not likely to run with the original colours. I was more just interested in the front seat covers the car came with in terms of code and originality. I have spoken with Tony Alltrim who I understand does good work but he only does seats and doesn't fit them so not sure if I go that path if I will have any issues with dye lots with the other trim pieces.  Here is a recent pic of the car FWIW and if you go to "Motorvation Custom Paint and Panel" facebook page you can see some more,  Cheers Ron

No point in pointing me towards Foolbook Ron, never used it and never will!
That colour will look fine with 60A or straight Slate Black.

I wasn’t sure what you meant by Monaro sunroof, but what you have looks like a HQ-HJ Holden Sunshine Roof. Bloody awful things, had a HQ LS coupe once with one. I’d keep your eye out for a really rusted UC Sunbird and keep its turret so you have the steel and the stuff underneath if you ever decide to eliminate it.

Sorry Yel.  I'm not a fan of facebook either and don't have an account, but a lot of businesses use it so I have to venture into the dark side occassionally.

Believe it or not it is a Monaro sunroof.  It is a modern Monaro version. The car had an original sunroof which I didn't like so got a modern one installed.  Takes up most of the underside of the roof.

Hi Gene.  I did speak to the guy at Cools who was quite helpful but being is Sydney not much he could do until I decide on colours. Cheers Ron

Hi all.  For anyone interested I got some samples from Winner Products for the door trim.  I'm told the code is 18V. Now as far as I can gather this is listed as slate black vinyl with golfball insert.  The golfball insert is a bit lighter that the slate black and, as has been mentioned before the golfball colour is grey but how would I know.  Here are 2 pics of the samples, one with the flash on and one off.  There is a distinct different in the visuals. The question I have is, is there an actual code for each of the colours ie. slate black and grey as I am going to get the trims done by Winner, the seats by a local guy (doesn't do fittings) and the rest by a trimmer that will fit it all up.  Naturally I'm trying to ensure the colours are the same.  BTW the door trims I am getting will have black piping around the golfball insert instead of the normal silver Mylar?.  Winner were the only ones I could find that could do this for me.  Cheers Ron

Someone else in this thread mentions Dark Ash 250 for the Golfball, but I think that was 19V.

When you look at the samples with your own eyes in good light, which one of the photos does it look like?

Hi Laurie.  Definitely looks like the darker version (right side pic) to the naked eye.  I noticed in the trim codes there is a dove grey in the LH table but I'm guessing that is lighter. Cheers Ron

I’ll post you up black vinyl next to slate with the golf ball insert. I have original dealer colour/trim books with 1970’s trim samples in them.

8VD69 18V trim is listed as having Slate Black vinyl with Dark Grey golfball insert.

Looking at the sample pics in Torana Tough

This looks like it would be Dark Grey golfball

Thanks Yel. I was reading another thread about flaring tools and remembered you bought a new one not long ago.  How did that go?

That's the interesting thing Dave.  Those 2 pics are the same sample just one taken with flash on and one off.  This is where it gets hard when you are working off pics from business web sites.  Cheers Ron

It is the same when taking photos of paint colours. No flash and good Fluro or LED light gives the closest results.

I just looked in my albums. Unfortunately black isn't in there nor is the Dark Grey 319 insert. The attached is the best I can do to show you the colour variations. You can see the difference between BEIGE and CHAMIOS, BROWN and TAN and I've included SLATE BLACK and the CHAMOIS 319 insert. You can see that the BEIGE and BROWN trims are straight/single tone whereas CHAMOIS and TAN plus SLATE are two-tone. You just have to watch that you don't get given the base level BLACK (which is normally 19 codes, against SLATE BLACK which is 18 coded). GMH didn't distinguish between the codes with CHAMOIS and TAN though - a base level car with 60V or 60A is BEIGE whereas Kingswood and up gets CHAMOIS under the same trim code. Same with 67V (BROWN and TAN), however for the blacks the Belmont got 19V and the Kingswood got 18V.

The 319 insert looks straight single tone though for CHAMOIS, I'd assume the 18V insert is the same.

The samples are scanned so are pretty close to correct.

Thanks Yel.  I think I will have to call on the seat trimmer in person with the samples and ensure he has the right match before I commit.  Need to pic a nice day for a drive. Cheers Ron

The first number is the Combination No. I don't think anybody has a comprehensive list of these. It relates to the Exterior and Interior finishes. 19v is black vinyl with Dark Ash golfball inserts. Door trims would be the same. We need the number after the PAINT line to confirm body colour.

Edit. Inserts may only apply to 8VD69.

A SL/R 5000 I'm looking at getting is 19V.... So black vinyl with Vinyl inserts. My question is though.. Are the inserts always the Ash Golfball inserts? Or did they do other colours?

cheers.
