G'day Members of GMH-Torana!

We are Seat Belt Solutions,
We are a Welshpool (Perth) based seat belt repairer; the only licensed seat belt repairers in Australia. We are licensed under the Department of Transport and CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority).

We can restore most original seat belts, we can supply aftermarket inertia reels (retractable lap sash), aftermarket 'Replica' original seat belt sets, also ADR approved (for pits) aftermarket 'Replica' sets. We have a range of Colours available, a range of seat belt fittings (chrome buckles, drop links etc), and we also can get most parts rechromed if needed. We can also fit type 2 anchorage points (child anchor points) to most vehicles.

Even though we are only located in WA, we still do jobs from other states, via postage, and we have a quick turn around time on all jobs (exception of rechroming jobs). We use overnight postage, for quick returns.
We have a shop opening up in QLD, but that is a month or two away from being ready.

Details for us are:
Phone: 9258 3666
Fax: 9358 2277
Email: [email protected]
Address:
Unit 1, 35 Colin Jamieson Drive, Welshpool, 6106, WA

We would like to offer this club/forum of motoring enthusiast's special discounts and offers. You are the target of our main work, restoring and customising seat belts. And we feel like we could help out the members of GMH-Torana with what we have to offer.

To start off, we are offering all GMH-Torana Members a 5% Discount on any order/job we get, all you have to do is quote "GMH TORANA"

We will post new specials as often as we can, and special GMH-Torana only deals, such as a full set of ADR approved seat belts to get your car passed the Pits, at a discount price for the full set, etc etc.

We haven't done anything like this before, so we are hoping with enough support and feedback from you guys, we can make this work.

Looking forward to hearing from all you guys, and hopefully some support.

If you have any questions, please call us or you can post a question below.

Regards
Daniel Jaeger,

Hey Guys,

any rewebbing or custom orders we do come with an Authorised Release Certificate, which basically says the work we have carried out is inline with "AS1753" and "AS2596"and certifies with CASA and the DPT.
the only issue we have is with Concours webbing, as it has a higher stretch rating, it's tagged to show car use (concours), paperwork is still supplied because the work we carried out is certified.
this webbing is the original style webbing, the one with ribbed horizontal lines.

if you have any questions and at all, please feel free to call us or drop a comment below.

here is a quick run down of some of our prices

Re-Webbing:

Inertia reel - $120
Lap Sash - $120
Lap Belt - $85
Double Inertia (US) - $165
[All include 1 buckle rewebb]

single buckle rewebb is $65

New Components:

Buckles^ (webbing or static stalk) - $45
Inertia Reel* - $145
Lap Sash* - $120
Lap Belt* - $85
New Tongue (to suit our buckle) - $15
Top Covers - $5.50 ea (black, beige, black with hook)
Chrome Ford/Holden style tongue - $25ea
Small chrome buckle and tongue - $65
chrome aviation style 'lift-latch' buckle and tongue (stainless steel) - $95

Awesome, our new best friend is the seatbelt guy :spoton:

I would be interested in new webbing or complete belts for LX.

Quick question if I may, what is wrong with inertia reels when they become lazy, are they just dirty?

Hi Guys,

I can also add a story of excellent service and workmanship from the crew at Seatbelt Solutions.

I called them to speak about re-webbing the HQ belts, and Adding some extra length due to the WRX seat install and my fat guts!
The guys were extremely helpful, advising me on how to mark my belts and measure how much additional webbing my inertia reels could take.
I had a family emergency occur at this time where I was required to go to Perth for the Funeral of a family member, and was only able to take a short time off work (5 days total including a weekend!)
The guys at Seatbelt Solutions had my belts re-webbed and additional webbing done for me in the time i was there.
The workmanship, Quality of materials and paperwork supplied were all second to none and I would highly recommend their services.

I would also like to thank Daniel for his offer to discount his services to the members of this forum! That's a bloody great offer guys!

Thanks again, And i hope that our members and your business can both gain!

Regards
Tiny.

TerraLX does raise a good point as a question too,

If you have a "lazy inertia reel" that does re wind with a bit of help, Is there any way to repair these to bring the spring tension back?

Cheers!

Oh.... and i've pinned this too for easy reference!

Quick question if I may, what is wrong with inertia reels when they become lazy, are they just dirty?

correct. 95% off the time the dirt / sweat / grime etc build up, makes the webbing thicker than it should be and doesn't retract to its full potential.

how much for a hk monaro front only none in rear of a 68,i have buckels etc just webing is looking secondhand.

rewebbing? lap sash/inertia reels are $120 each. that includes a buckle each aswell, postage is $20 for express overnight, $15 for Australia post express (few days)

@ Macka, i am just about to reply to your PM

@ Tiny, Thank you for the feed back and for helping us get on our feet. and for pinning the topic!

One last thing,
if anyone wants a colour sample, please give us a call, and we can post you off some samples.

One thing that often comes up is extension belts?

Are you able to supply these? With the approriate buckles/tongue (or supplied by owner) for the vehicle required?

You can purcahse off the shelf ones, but they are useless for old cars and it's more the pregnant girls asking about them than the solid guys...:D

grant, we can make up extensions using supplied buckle and tongue, max is 300mm.

otherwise we have a stock extensions which fits vehicles with klippan/autolive buckles..

like your new holdens..

otherwise if it's a webbing buckle you want extended we can rewebb the actual buckle (given that it's on webbing) to a desired length.

there is another option, but it should really only be used temporary, which is an extension which bolts onto the existing end fitting and bolts back to where the end fitting was. if that makes sense at all :S

also our GM sticker stock is due to arrive monday morning.

About 6 months ago I sent over a Hyundai Sante Fe seat belt to get rewebbed.
They were half the price of a s/h one from the wreckers and it was back here in Sydney in less than
a week from when I sent it.

They phoned me when it was ready.
Excellent service and product.

Wish them all the success they deserve.

Cheers Louie.

Sounds good. That will assist many of the early holden owners (non-reel) who want to keep the stock belts stock.

Just received our set of LJ torana seatbelts concourse black webbing. Wow we are over the moon with them.

Good quality chrome work.

They were well packed each piece was in its own bubble wrap no way in the world would they get scratched in transit.

Payment was made at 12.30 pm yesterday 19th April. Delivery was at our front door today 20th April 10.30am and this came from WA to the east coast of Aust so we were amazed.

We can not get a delivery this quick from our next surburb.

From our first phone call with Daniel at Seat Belt Solutions he has been a pleasure to deal with and we would highly recommend anyone looking for prompt and courteous service and a good product to not hesitate in contacting him

Well done to Daniel and the team at Seat Belt Solutions.

PS. thanks for the tip Tiny

Daniel,

Regarding a complete set of Black seat belts for an LJ 2 door, if I send you all my buckles and tongues that will have been replated already, can you supply and fit to the new belts, new plastic covers and tongue ends as per the following photos? I am aware of 2 establishments that will supply new plastic covers and tongues on belts that they reweb for their customers and wonder whether you can do this too. If you can't supply and fit these plastic components, the seat belts would not be correct for my car.

@ kockum,

unfortunately we can't get them new, therefore we can't supply the ends and caps.

if we recieve a job with missing adjuster caps, we try to find a second hand one and paint it the same colour, and put it on, free of charge, as a courtesy..

but we cannot get them new, and having the loose tongue ends, they usually end up between the door and fray quicker.. we sew the loose end back onto the sash using a loop bar, it looks neat and doesnt get caught in the door.

if we could find a supplier of new adjuster caps, that would be good.

So if SBS are the only licenced seat belt repairer in OZ
Who are these other 2 establishments that can offer the obscure finishing touches.... but not a licenced belt ?
I doubt I'd be using a non licenced supplier even if they had the pretty bling bits
Maybe you could buy the bling... then get them made by a pro

Just a suggestion
