Generally speaking, the fuel tank and any breathers etc have to be isolated from the cabin to prevent fumes getting in.

That would be your starting point anyway.

Any holes in the rear firewall would have to be sealed up.

Including speaker holes I would guess.

You would need to have the boot area vented to outside as well.

If the battery is in the boot, it would probably also need to be in a sealed box as well.

An engineer may want you to cover any other wiring with split conduit taped up as well.

If you pull up at a servo when a tanker is unloading, the electrics you see on it will give you an idea.

Cheers

Rob

thanks mate
Ive spoken to an engineer about this
Like u said fully seal boot away from cabin
Filler must have a spillage tray that spills to the exterior(so basically a spillage tray they make for a fuel cell with a line from that to exit boot floor)
Also like u said battery to be in a sealed box

With all of that effort and headache, I have to ask why you even want to do this?

Its not that much effort really and i can fit the pipes easier and also get rid of the external noisy fuel pump and run an intank pump
The original tank for the car had a couple of pin hole leaks and after looking up tank sealers and the problems ppl have with them i wasnt going to go down that road
Plus it looks alot better to have the tank concealed in the boot
I was already going to run the fuel cell it was more about the safety of my young fellows that ocassionally sit in the back seat by sealing the boot and running the flame retardant foam in the tank im sure it will be safer then running thw original tank

plus the fuel cell is already baffled so dont have to worry about that

You can run an internal pump in a std tank. Look at Aeromotive Phantom pumps. I have one in my LX. Also POR or KBS fuel tank sealer will repair pin holes in fuel tanks. Again have done mine with great success.
