Hello everyone

I would like to know of a panel beater in melbourne who specializes in rust and panel fabrication. I am looking for someone who knows what they are doing and does not cut any corners. I am looking to get a lot of work done and dont want anything to do with filling damaged panels up with bog and doing dodgy's. So if someone could put me on to a panel beater who deals with this kind of work it would be greatly appreciated

thanks :D

Another place you could chat to is Stylerod Panels in Croydon. They won't be cheap, especially if we're talking many hours of work involved, but they specialise in the older cars/restorations etc...

No personal experience with Stylerod, but know cars that have been done by them, very high quality. I've been in a couple of times and spoken with them and they are very pricey, we all know good paint is expensive nowadays, just depends what your idea of expensive is. John Wood was in there with his old 1930's something or other one time getting a complete resto, if that makes any difference to ya :D

Cheers,

how much do you want to spend? Because a good coachbuilder or beater charges $70-80min a hour. And you wait a year for job to start. My lc has cost $8000+ to hi fill, and a good weeks work still before paint. Done flutes and 2 rust repairs, very good shell. That $8,000 is at $120 a day and matial. It would be $15000 so far, in a shop. He told my a week, been 37days so far, but it's f@#king good so far. My mate said it cost $20,000min to rebuild a gtr/ux1 the right way, then you need to panit it.

There is a place in Kicthen rd Dandenong, across the road from PWR super team, he is real good, wait a year+(dose heaps of XW,XYGT's ( i drive past all the time to see want he in working on. One in Halam, Curran Coachworks, charge heap, that where my mate done his trade.

He told me, some people had trouble keeping the cash up, you pay by the month at Karron Coachworks. Could be the reason the cars sit doing nothing their. I know another who worked their and charges $70 in folding a hour, think how much the smoke and coffee costs, and you have to earn $120 to paid $70 to paid him.

My mate worked there for 12yrs, he was the slowest and the best, App of the year in all 4yrs. He so f#$king good, he done me car just to see how good he still is. He brings people round to show off his work. He dosen't do it anymore(don't like it), i think my car was the test car to see if he wanted to go back to it. He is a good teacher and loves to teach you. Shows you how it do it right. He is the last of the real panelbeater
