Last night the Gasolene program ran an interview with Ian Tate at his workshop.

It covered Ian's association with Harry Firth from his early years as the local kid pest
hanging around the garage door through his HDT days and beyond.

It also went into aspects of XU-1 engine preparation for Historic Group Nc showing
bottom end main girdle arrangements, sump baffling and oil control techniques.
Well worth a look.

I think the program will be repeated on Channel 31 on

Thurs 26 Feb 4.00 PM
Fri. 27 Feb 2.00 PM
Sat. 28 Feb 1.00 PM

Cheers JR

Its an analogue channel, not digital. Go to SBS (channel 28) and work upwards from there.

And I think its only a major city metro thing and this is why Chris can't get it.

You can watch the Gasolene episodes on the net.

Use the search box and heaps of episodes are available for viewing.

I spoke to Ian Tate's son after the show and he said they have filmed at Ian's workshop for the last 3 weeks so stay tuned next week for some more. He seems to think they are going to run episodes from the LJ race cars up to the A9X series of race cars, last night was the LJ so up next should be the SLR's.

A majority of this week's episode of Gasolene ( Community Channel 31 ) involves Ian Tate, Eddy Woods and others tuning a 202 red motor with tripple Webers on an engine dyno. Very interesting Tate commentary.

Program is repeated at 6.30 Pm Saturday Nov. 6 or watch it on the Gasolene website.

well worth a look.

Its an analogue channel, not digital.

Craig, as of May this year TVS is also on digital channel 44. You won't see it on a set top box unless you re-scan the channels.

Can't see a link on youtube to Ian Tate tuning the 202 on the dyno. I'm very interested in what he says. Can anyone post up a link to the vid?

Cheers.

Was cool seeing my car on this weeks episode, wasn't expecting that when I rocked up to the HSD tech day. Awesome day and super informative. We also had a tour of the Elfin Musuem which was fantastic, but none of that was shown on TV.

Will be keen to see what else Gasolene shows on future episodes. I really loved the Longford Revival a few weeks ago - now that would be a cool weekend away.

Car looked great on TV. Congrats.

Very jealous of you guys as I watched and listened to Eddie.

Such amazing knowledge, experience and passion for both 6 & 8 Holden red motors.

I like the show, the only parts I don't care much for are the racing segments.

The girls blowing kisses all the time gets a bit cheesy too, lol.
