Something from the late 60's. Was it a race car?

Was it a race car? Not that I'm aware of.

This tells me it was never registered and the number plates were just screwed to it for the promotional day?
Of all the images I've looked at (lots and lots) I haven't found one with a rego sticker on the window.

I'll just take the opportunity to thank GTRXU1 for confirming the number from the engineering report and Norm Darwin for supplying me the clear image.

So does that mean the plates were registered to a 350 HT Monaro?

Nuh.............
This story sounds better........... :spoton:

The chassis was based on a trimmed down HT sedan front subframe graphed to a fully fabricated chassis and fibreglass body.
The engine was a 350 Chevrolet V8 unit with a Saginaw 4 speed manual transmission.
Unfortunately, the power to weight ratio was deemed to be too dangerous and the project was scrapped.

These plates would go well on your car if you were in Vic. Mark.
Look at the rego date off the Vic Roads search.

So from the rego number check, it seems it was a 2 owner ht 350 munro. With it's original rego for 23 years. Any idea where it is now?
Guessing Holden owned it if the plates are on the GTR-X...

No idea where it is now. Might still be alive with new rego? :dontknow:

I'm tipping the day of the media shots, they took the plates of a Holden exec's car at Lang Lang and screwed them on to the GTR-X? :dontknow:

If you look at watt's link, (pun) in some of the frames the plates are on but in others they aren't.
