This one is mine. :D

Planned changes are to put SLR hubcaps back on it, remove the aftermarket seats and fit UC buckets sprayed black (closer but still not original) and to get the chequer plate off the floor.

What is the difference between the G-Pack and the SL/R 3300?

The SLR 3300 had a much greater degree of luxury. The G Pak was a options package aimed at increasing sales to young buyers. There was a handfull of options thrown in for a little extra and of course the paint styling.

Hahaha what luxury would that be? (joking). You could describe the Torana as a lot of things but luxurious is not one of them

Theres a Red one with the Blue stripe on it located in Belgrave (Victoria). Its near where one of my work mates lives. He also has one the same as Heath (Green) for parts I think.

Or maybe vice versa. :tease: :spoton:

Are they steel rims?
Will the hubcaps fit on them or are you putting standard rims back on it?

Yeah..standard rims..but those wheels are just chrome plated no name wheels..they would probably fit.

Any idea on the origins of that G-Pak SUXGAS? Could it maybe have started out life as the BBBAD yellow G-Pak of Leigh Rainbird? Hell nice car...

The yellow with black stripes is the best combo IMO.

Leigh's car still exists. I don't know if SUXGAS actually developed from any other modified car. I never heard of it before it was in its orange w/ hornet, unblown BB setup. What makes you think that it's a G-Pak?

My first car was a red G PAK. I put it backwards into a pole in Foostcray back in April 85. It then caught fire due to the number plate light sparking and my full tank of petrol came up the filler tube. It looked like a flame thrower before the fire spread to the interior via the boot! Bugger

I haven't been able to get onto anyone who has them either..Hawks (former member) had some...I email eons ago but didn't get a reply. I have dabbled with the idea of getting stickers and mask kits made up but haven't yet.....waiting for one of those quiet times that never seem to happen.

Spotto yellow and black G Pak on the Hume Sydney bound on Friday...wife wouldn't let me give chase.

It doesnt look like a GPAK but (supposedly) it once was.

6 years ago i purchased my torana from a bloke for 1200 bucks, with stuff all rust and a few shopping trolley dings.

He told me it was a jamaican lime GPAK, but someone had painted it green and black like an SLR. The motor was a 202, aussie 4 speed box and 3.36 banjo

From what my tags say i think he may be right....

built 3/75
BLH035669M
8VB69LE
J472XXXH
paint 568-17342
L20 M20 GV4

I love GPAKs, but shes well and truly molested now, theres no way id even try and get it like lookin like a GPAK after the dollars ive spent

Would be interesting to know how many of these GPAKs were made...

Haven't got a pic of a G-Pak but I do have the sales brochure

Posted Image

Had some writing on the left bottom side by the dealer stating price of $4,004 plus rego of $120 plus stamp duty of $20.
There was also a discount of $150

Above this was "Apple Green (3)" and "Yellow (1) what ever that meant but could have been how many of those colours were available ?

Regards .... Barry

PS I have photoshopped out the writing and the crease mark down the middle
