Sweet!

Have you thought about painting the intercooler matt black like the rocker covers? Wouldn't stand out as much behind the grill if it was black.

Might be a stupid question but would that affect the cooling ability having it painted in a heat absorbing colour? :blink:

I went to Autosalmon last weekend - There was a Garrett Distributor who had Brand New Garret GT28 turbos for $780 Each. Cheap as. Considering going the twin turbo route again.

Sorry for the long delay guys. I've been focusing mainly on my LC lately rather than the LJ.
It is still coming together, albeit very slowly. Here's a quick update:

OK the engine is back in the car, and has been for many months.
I've installed the 9 inch and found a 2:75 single spinner centre to put in there for now. But don't worry, I've bought a 4.11 Motive gearset and spool.
Fuel system is all hooked up (except for the fuel tank).
Have started to plumb up some of the coolant and oil lines. Will update with some more photos soon!
Also started a little bit on the wiring loom, but this isn't much fun so we'll leave that to later.

We've also finished making a twin 3 inch stainless exhaust. I'm actually going to use the same exhaust system from for both my LC (355) and LJ (1UZ), will be flanged just before the x-pipe.

Today I made replicas of the exhaust hangers on my LC so that the exhaust would sit in the same spot on both cars. I properly fitted the system under the LJ and it worked out well. I'll get some pictures of this too soon.

We're running the exhaust from the turbos through the inner gaurd, squeezing it through the wheel arch past the back of the tyre. We've made one pipe coming off the turbo, and its a really tight fit when the wheel is at full lock. Still gotta make the same thing for the turbo on the other side now. Has anyone else run exhaust through the guard with 3 inch pipe in an LC / LJ?

yes i wonder, he was doing this while i was putting a Nissan V8 twin turbo in my LJ
