That looks alright, but still need to fill the holes where the original spot weld was drilled out.

I bought new guards to avoid the issue.

It's gonna be tough and there is lots of them.

Ok how do u take the front guards off where the valance meets behind the guard?
There is spot welds holding the guard, outter valance and inner valance all in 1 folded row of spot welds.
And also how do u weld it all back together under there?

if your going to throw away the old gaurds, you could always do what i did with mine and cut the gaurd just past the valance then slowly grind the steel away til the lip on the valance is exposed.

Ok. I was thinking that might be the only option. But I don't know how to get it back together. I won't be able to spot weld in there, so will prob have to seam weld in the gap.
