SSHatch, getting off the boat at 7:00am should see you in Heathcote by 11:00... easily, even after dropping off the missus and negotiating your way out of the CBD.

Dropping the missus off???
Hell, she can walk from the boat.

I am more concerned about rounding here up and getting everything she will buy into the car so we can get home again that night.

I figured it couldnt be that hard to get to as we used to do the run to Wodonga in only a few hours and I figure its nowhere near that far out.

Still unsure on the whole event at the moment, would love to do it but just have to work out the cost associated with it and work out a contingency plan should I do my usual and break something while I am there.
The guys are still trying to figure out how the 350chev stood up to 8500rpm the other week at the drags.
So dont count me out but also dont class me as a definate just yet. Will let you know closer to the day.

Stedz - opening up the burnout pad is a decision that everyone will have to make.... I'm sure Heathcote will be more than willing to let us use it again... but it just means shutting the drag strip earlier... so I guess it will depend on how many people are hell keen to rip skids! It was certainly very entertaining last time :)

Ive asked about the costs and requirements for the cars and licencing ( for heath tongue.gif) and i'll let you know as soon as i find out!

haha thanks Tiny sorry to be a hassle mate. I haven't yet recieved a responce from them in my e-mail but that's alright as I'm in no rush to find out. I'll just play it by ear and bringing the LX up is better than sitting at home working on it ey?

EDIT: What do you know i just checked my e-mail and Joanna said that is fine as long as a parent signs for me, w000t!

Yep a poll is an excellent idea - probably best to wait until about a month before the day so we get an accurate result.

Heath - good news man!

Hmmm... In a way I want to have a crack on the burnout pad, but I mean I can't drive for shit and it's not like I can practise in any car, or any place. I predict I'd go out for a few seconds, snap a banjo and not even necessarily make much smoke, so I guess we'll see.

Brett, mate I'm stoked, it's fantastic!

Thats great news heath! Joanne hasnt gotten back to me about costs and stuff yet, no doubt she;s snowed under with work to do at the moment!!

As Brett said the skid pad means less drag racing.. I'll add a Poll to see who wants to go out and destroy some tyres again! If theres enough of us and we all want to watch then i'm sure Heathcote park wont mind us doing that!!

As far as the stickers go, ive got alot left from the initial sticker run, but none in white. Plenty of blue, red and blacks.
I'll ask the admins whether they believe its right to allow the members attending to use those stickers rather than getting more made specially for the event!

Does anyone know what is the age requirement for a passenger is. My 7 year old son is very keen to come down the strip with me and since my car is only a 14 second car, I figure that is not to dangerous.

I do not believe that there is an age requirement as when going two up only one car leaves anyway so it would be you and your son only. Obviously him driving might be another story, but I see no issue with him being there, apart from the whole under ten thing in the front... ;)

Cheers

TO the best of my knowledge there shouldnt be a problem with taking your boy for a run in the passenger seat. You WILL have to fill out an indemnity form for him obviously giving parental approval for it.

As long as he;s wearing a helmet ( may need to organise a small sized helmet before the day!?) and enclosed clothing and shoes and that he's strapped in securely then there SHOULD be no drama!

Cheers!

HAHAH Bring it ON!

Hang on... State of origin!? isnt that a NSW/QLD thing? LOL!

I've just gotten an email from Joanne at Heathcote:

Heath is ok to race as long as he has parental consent, all other ruses are as stated, vehicle and clothing wise.

The Cost:
$40 to race
$10 to Spectate!

Too easy :)

Ed: I dont think theres a problem with the blue bottle as long as the car is right as far as the ANDRA rules go.. What i'm saying is.. dont turn up with a 9 sec car without a cage in it! LOL!

Mate i just cant commit. every dollar i spend on a trip down is 75 odd cents i dont get to spend in the US! Appart from the costs of the trip, i want to be able to buy up any Err... parts.... that may come along at the right price for the HQ ( well.. chev :P) or maybe... a 69 RS camaro to freight home.. Who knows :P

Cheers!

mate i really appreciate the offer, and Ive been approached personally by a few members with AWESOME offers of assistance to come down for the weekend!

I'd really like to, but there's plenty of time left to see how things are going closer to the date and see how it pans out. It's something i'd rather NOT miss, but unfortunately the triphas to take priority! Once in a lifetime for me!

Some of the guys that i'm hoping to invite have 9 second cars... If everyone agrees I'll invite them along to put on a bit of a demonstration for us!

Cheers!
