Wellington 739  is listed as Gersbachs Garage on the doco Ian provided. 

 

Their current address appears to be 92 Lee St Wellington. Current phone number ends in 733.

They are / were NRMA agents.  I thought  I found the old adress for NRMA wellington, back in the day was also 92 Lee St, but can't find it again.

 

There are some dots there to join, but not rock solid....733  and 739...pretty close.

Hi guys,

This is my 1st post after my introduction and I would like to ask for some help please.

Has anyone come across internal costing code 255m? 3/72 build, Melbourne PSN J319942

A few years ago GM told me that it was linked to Motorsport. I’ve taken that answer with a pinch of salt though due to their distinct lack of care with regards to historical GMH information.

I’ve had a good look through the entire thread and I’m pretty sure it hasn’t been mentioned. I could have missed it though as I’m partial to a bit of industrial blindness.

Amazing work done on the list guys with a lot of hours going into it….Phenomenal

255 Metro 3 VIC DANDENONG GMH Employee deal 

 

255 was used for  employee deals:-  multiple states, multiple occasions, multiple manufacturing locations, over multiple years.

 

The 255 changed its description with every new deal (hence the suffix - for accounting purposes)

Distinct possibility, in 1954 there phone numbers 737 and 738 and after hours 672.

Just trying to identify the dealer my car came from.   The VIN is 8C69LEJ475565H (off the skinny tag in the middle).   The rest of the car has been totally changed but I believe it still has the original tags on it.

@Balfizar, would you happen to have any info on the history of the Holden dealer in Moruya NSW (88 Vulcan Street, Moruya NSW 2537)?

 

Not 100% on the dates but I think it was Don Claire Motors from 03/02/1978 (or possibly earlier) to 12/06/1984

 

Then changed to Surfair Motors Pty Ltd from 12/06/1984 to 04/06/1999 T/A "Surfair Holden"

 

Then changed to R.B. Spelman & Sons P/L from 04/06/1999 to November 2006 T/A "Surfair Holden"

 

Then changed to South Coast Automobiles Pty Ltd T/A "Alan May Holden" up until last year when they pulled down the Holden signs and it became a Ford dealership!

 

No idea what preceded all of those, I'd think there would've been a Holden dealer before that but I have no idea of the name (bit before my time).
