Hey gang, the NSW crew are kicking ass organising their leg of the all-states cruise.... so who's keen from Vic for the Melbourne chapter????

Everytime I chat to people I know from these forums, we all agree a good forum cruise is looooong over-due.... so come on, let's get one happening. I'm happy to organise it... I vote 253ToranaSS has to help me!!! EHGIRL will also be up for helping too...

First things first... I want to set a date, and I'm looking at March. Do people prefer a Saturday or a Sunday??

Sunday 4th March would be perfect for us... then I realised it's the Clipsal 500 weekend. Does this matter? I'd be happy to set the tape if it meant cruising with Torana's, then I could watch the V8's later that night. Thoughts??

If people are against that idea... what other dates would you suggest? Remember the sooner we do it, the higher chance of ace weather....

Over to you guys....

PS. My intentions are as follows:
Meet up point - cruise - stopoff for photoshoot - then cruise to final destination (possibly bbq lunch in park?). Or if sad weather, pub lunch?? Just some ideas.

I cant make the 4th of March though. Maddy and i are going away that weekend. But i agree with you that we need to do it in early march!

I don't really care myself, I'll tape it and watch it later... same for the V8's.

Ok, some more possibilities, let's steer away from the 4th:

Sun 11th March - day after a wedding for us, but if we don't make it an early start, could still come (quality of cruise directly proportional to how good the wedding is and how much booze is consumed).

Sat 17th March

Sun 18th March - F1's as knoath pointed out

Sat 24th March

If the 4th doesn't suit, and the 11th doesn't either.... I spose the 18th is out ...would the 24th-25th be best?

As I said, either date's fine by me, I'd just like to see as many as possible turn out to this one, it is for the forum, gold coin donation should be a given.

I have spoken to LXCHEV about some ideas, sorry I haven't gotten to you yet Matty, hope you don't mind me butting in....

The 11th should still be cool... even though day after a wedding for us... as long as it's not too early a start, we'll manage alright!! I'm just trying to get a date as early as possible to increase our chances of a nice sunny day!

That's the only Sunday on offer. Otherwise we have two Saturdays to choose from:

Sun 11th March
Sat 17th March
Sat 24th March

Should we run a poll? Or just provide feedback in this thread... the first date to get 10 votes wins!!?? haha

The weekend of the 11th is Labour Day long weekend....doesn't affect me, Mrs Knoath just pointed it out saying some members may want to go away....reckons we'll only get 5 turn up!

Thanks for pointing that out 73lj202 .... unfortunately, there'll always be something on.
If people want to choose the cruise over something else, then their availability can be counted on.
I have something on the weekend of the 4th, so I'm not available....it's something I have no choice over....

The last weekend in March is still open.
Lets see when the majority are available and go for that!

What about a cruise to Phillip Island for the historics ? If you havent been to this event, you dont know what your missing. I know its a long cruise but it is a fantastic destination. We could meet at Cranbourne Bunnings carpark for the 50 min cruise. BBQ lunch at the races, imagine walking the pits and chatting with all the Torry racers, and there is plenty of them, from the XU1s ,L34s and A9Xs,they would have the biggest cheer squad going, seriously consider this proposal peoples, this is the ultimate muscle car race meet. I have to go or I couldnt forgive myself, if some cant make the cruise early we could meet up at the meeting, have a think about it, it would in my opinion be the ultimate Torana Big Day Out !!!
