Well the Kustom Nats have been and gone for yet another year. It's definitely still growing in size, this year saw cars EVERYWHERE! Masses of hot rods, kustoms, muscle cars, cool cruisers, classics, everything! I was in Chev heaven!!

Anyway, Deb and I cruised down in the hatchback on the Sunday just to go for a cruise and have a look. We ended up entering the hatchback (why not), and put it on display, as well as taking it out for plenty of "cruising" around the Philip Island circuit. What a great view with the ocean as a backdrop, it was fantastic. I'd have loved to be able to wind her out and stretch the legs, but it was still fun just cruising at a nice pace.

Anyway, thought I'd post up a couple of pics of ye beaste:

Here we are parked right under the famous 'Melbourne' sign on the straight:

Here goes Deb exiting Pit Lane:

And if you look close enough, you can just see her cruising along the track, what an awesome view:

After we had left for the day, we found a nice spot to take a couple more shots of the beast:

All in all, a great day :)
(If only we took LXCHEV!!!!!!!!!!!)

Cheers
Brett.

All good. Even better to see that you've knocked the EH out of her!!!!

That event was a well kept secret, didn't even hear about it.

Hey guys the Kustom Nats have been going for 3 or 4 years now!!! But yeah, not many people seem to know about it, but man it's a great event. I've been down every year and always have a good time. I have now cruised the circuit in a Panelvan, an EH (which I sat in the boot filming out of, holding on for dear life cos leadfoot Deb was driving!), and the hatchback. Next year the sedan gets a turn?!

For those who don't know and are interested, it's a 3 day event, starting in town on Friday night with a beach party/car show. Then Sat and Sun are both at the race circuit, it's just a huge car show, with cruising around the track at your leisure. Sometimes you only get to cruise the southern section, other times the entire track. They also have a team of guys who perform a "chop-top" over the course of the weekend which is cool. Every year they chop a different car.

Also heaps of trade displays, t-shirt stalls, food stalls, etc etc (all the usual). Plus lots of Rockabilly bands playing all weekend.

PS. Herne - yeah mate don't worry, you are only like the 100th person to comment on the 4WD stance of the hatchback! Plans are currently underway to rectify this situation (probably by at least 3 inches or so!).

Cheers :)

Looks awesome Brett, got any more photos of the car in that position, coz it looks tops in the really bright sun :spoton:

A mate (who's into Lowriders etc) was telling me about the Kustom Nats and I'd never heard anything about them before a few days ago. He had the impression it was at the end of the month and wanted to go. lol I'll break the news to him in the morning heh heh.

knoath you have made my day mate!!!!!!! That looks trick as! Thanks heaps :) Now I'm really motivated to dump her. And that's actually pretty much the exact stance I'm aiming for too.

Heath - yeah we took heaps of pics, so I'll have a look when I'm at home and can email a few across to ya if ya want? The funny thing is, the car was actually quite dirty and dusty at the end of the day, but it looks mint in the pics! Figure that out...??

PS. Hope your mate wasn't really hanging out for the Kustom Nats - just tell him only 365 days till the next one!

Um Yella,

I suspect that you will not ever remove the love of EH's out of Deb. Infact How can you not love EH's??? Appreciation for the torana is what I believe you call it.. ;)

Cheers
