Hey Guys,

I thought i would put a post up here telling you of my new little toy.

Its a 1971 HQ Premier, 202 on Dual Fuel, Column Shift Auto. and lowered on its arse! The Body is in mint condition! there was lucky to be about 3-4 tiny bubbles of rust in the whole car, and also every panel was pretty much straight. I got the Car off Guns n Roses parents farm, where it had been sitting for a while.

The only negative about the car was the nose cone had had both of its corners banged up! so off i go to ebay where i find myself a complete Twin Headlight front! Cheap! When all i really after is the nose cone itself i got myself a new bumper, grill with a GTS Badge! Rad Support and two sets of Headlight Surrounds! So that was a perfect find!

Right now im in the process of doing all the body work (Not that there is much at all) it is all but done, prob just another day of work to be had on it!

After that ill be repraying it, this time im gonna have a crack at it with Guns n Roses watching to slap me in the back of the head if i stuff up lol. The Plan is to paint it Metallic Black! as the body is pretty much perfect i dont mind going black! Its got Sweet hubcaps on it atm, which i wanna keep but i need to find a set of Phat Rear wheels first to pt them on! If not i wouldnt mind a set of indies, centrelines are something like that.

Anyway i would have some pics to show but its raining outside and i cant get good pics of it, i will try and get some as soon as i can!!

Cheers

Same angle, but mine is a bit cropped. (and it's like 80x75res) ...on the shitty phone.

Should be a fun project, there nice and easy to work on and just about any engine will fit in 'that' engine bay :spoton:. I seem to have a soft spot for HQ's... 1 2door, 2 4 doors and a 1tonner. Gotta get rid of 2 of them haha.

If you ever need parts gimmie a pm and i may have somthing to help you out ;).

I love HQ's they are GMH's best ever car, cant beat em. Iv had a few HQ's in the past a few coupes and a few sedans. My best HQ was my GTS sedan in silver minc and orange GTS strypes wich i took to the Wangaratta 40th anaversery Monaro Nationals. Was a magic day to cruz in a convoy with hundreds and hundreds of monaros all shapes and sizes.

Good luck with it Matt nice find..

Thanks guys! I have always liked the look of HQ's as well, and i like them that little bit more now!

The only real thing i need to get now are some Widend Stockies for the rear, So i can keep my hubcaps on and still have phats!

Im at work today, but ill get some good pics of it soon and the progress ive gotten too!

Im looking to get some paint on it within the next two weeks!

Can you picture this beast towing the torana up to the Heathcote Drag day!!!
