I just acquired a copy of this book off eBay.
I'm not sure if it has been subject of an earlier thread.

Anyhow it is a great publication and well worth the $ 45 - $ 50 going price.

It appears to have photos of all XU-1s that raced or attempted to qualify for the
big event between 1970 and 1973.

Not a lot of text but great photography and interesting comments from Colin Bond
and Don Holland who describes each car he drove for Max Wright - particularly his
1973 car which had to be reshelled a couple of weeks before the race after the original
was written off at Amaroo Park.

The best motoring book I have bought in a long time.

Cheers JR

I too have bought this great book. A pictorial bible if you like.
I esp like the full size, full side on action shots of the 73 cars with the wider rims, & the 1973 photo of HDTs #1 #24 #T

Does this book refer to or show the XU1s that raced in 1974 & 1975?

No it covers the 1970 / 71 / 72 & 73 races only.

It also covers some of the GTRs and S types that competed - I'm not sure if it
covers every Torana that contested the event during those years.

I have to agree with NZGTR - the Group C XU-1s of 1973 look great with their
wider Sprintmaster wheels.

Cheers JR.

I did not realise that any S pack Torana's raced at the mountain. As a mater of interest, was any of these S packs silver?

I had a flick thr'u the book - majority of pics are B & W.

1970 # 19 B LC 2600S - Graham Moore & Bill Brown
DNF - Blown engine after 52 laps. A light colour.

1972 # 47 B LJ 2850S - Chris Cole & Jan Holland
DNF - Collapsed front suspension - 89 laps - colour red.

There were quite a few GTRs also competed during those 4 years.
