i have just wired up the wiper part of the stalk but i am having trouble with the highbeam wires.
the UC stalk has 4 wires: orange, light green, light brown and light blue with a black stripe.
the LX stalk for highbeam has only a white wire and a black earth wire.

can anyone help me correctly wire up the stalk so that it will flick between high and low beam?

Sorry, can't help you myself.
Did you take pics?

This has been done by a few members here so an answer should be coming soon.
And hopefully a Tech Article not to far behind it.

Grant..

G'day mate, your lucky I just did this about 2 months ago.

The Orange wire goes to the White, and the Black with white stripe goes to black (earth)

BTW, my UC stalk has more than 4 wires (hence the black with white stripe above which you didn't mention)

P.S. isn't it fun making room for the extra wires to exit the LX column? :D

thanks for the replies.

sorry Grant i didnt take any pics.

Mat, i am using a UC honeypot so the wires have more room to go down the steering column than the LX honeypot.

also i thought the black and white wire was for the wipers, thats how i wired it up.

i wired the headlight section as follows, the orange (UC) to the white LX wire and used the blue with black stripe (UC) to the black LX earth.

that leaves two spare wires from the UC headlight dipper switch that arent needed on an LX.

its all working with those connections.

How you go about wiring it depends on whether you retain the dipper relay that the LX has. The LX dipper relay is fairly unique it just toggles between high and low beam when 12V is applied, hence the reason you have wires left over. The UC doesnt have a dipper relay.
It sounds like you have it going? just the wire that gives the instanteous flash from the uc can be used to switch the lx relay.

yeah i got it going.

the only problem i had was the fact that the LX is unique with its relay, but once i worked that out i it was fine.
