Dont worry about the stroker crank it will reduce the blocks strength I dont see the point to one either as Joe from J Zed uses a standard red block crank and look at the times he gets
The J Zed head would be the first thing to get

I have been trying to work out if I should paint my car a different colour
Since I have had my car I have only ever seen four other Torana's the same colour
He's a old picture of my car out in the sun and what I was thinking of painting it
give me your thoughts

Hi
I guess at the end of the day its what you want. Only reason im painting my car white is because its easy to clean and easy to match to touch up stone chips ect. I like the black and maroon torrie with the flares. It gets two thumbs up.

Try and imagine it without the body kit do you think you would still like the black and maroon

Hi
Maroon is great im not sure on lowerer blackouts on cars unflared, im using as cross between LH and LX slr blackouts to be different. Black bonnet and door frames yes and black outs around tailights should be ok. I would use the slr mirrors if you can get hold of them. The crome tailight rims i dont like (my car has them as well) but you might like them however the chrome around the roof and door handles look good unpainted just to brighten things up. I would also not paint the bumpers. Maybe another member could do up a pic to show how it looks with or without blackouts. Whats your idea on mags.

I have the SLR mirrors, I wasnt going to black out the bottom because of the same reason, the car in the pic has the side blacked out so he could have SLR 5000 written on the side
As for the chrome around the taillights the car wont be getting them back nor any other bit of chrome
The bars will be painted black to
And on the mags havent really decided yet, I will be using the Hopper's Stoppers brake up grade so nothing smaller than a fifteen inch rim will do and I was going to a commodore stud pattern and offset to match the commodore diff I am using
I had always liked Simmons B45 on a Torana but I think it has been done to many times, I might go with a set of dragways or weld wheels there going to be painted black to

Hi

Havent got far as the diff yet just worked out what I want, there was a diff & gearbox guy at parramatta who I was going to see but he closed down or moved before I went to see him so now I will worry about it when I get there
The motor has a big price tag so its taking a long time to finish, then I will do the gearbox then finaly the diff

a9x i am doing the same with my torana, efi t04 turbo red motor. i have a 161 head coverted to 12 port with chev sized valves. blue motor bits, hv oil pump, oil cooler, roller rockers. 186 block bored. need some low compression pistons and turbo cam. should be okay.

are you going to cut holes for your intercooler piping?
i am going to try and keep the sleeper look with in air to air intercooler with fan in the engine bay. plus keep the cops off me ;)

Hi
Yeah morgage isnt too bad up here, im trying to get my injected moter in and done before we move in. Im not worred about the bodywork as much because i have a family freind in the trade to help me with it. I think my morgage would be less than the rent on some peoples houses down south.

You might be able to see my intercooler at the moment, but it will be matt black when finished behind a black grill so you wont see it and I have found a place that makes black hoses for the intercooler there nearly always blue took a bit to fine them
All you will see is mag wheels its lowered a fresh paint job it will have a little hornet scope on the passenger side to let cold air in but thats about all you will see, a quiet exhaust, plum back BOV so you wont know its turboed until you hear it spool up
The intercool was a perfect fit to if you want to change you mine about having one
