Great Information here,

 

Don't like the under bonnet/boot sand blasting now, gees.

 

Yep, a good blaster can turn the pressure up and down as they travel into deep or not so deep areas.

 

So that puts chemical dipping reaction into a different field, where it takes time to nibble away the grime.

 

Another one that has come up is the Electrolytic Rust Removal

Reverse Rust



negative electrode on part, and positive on Bath



takes all rust away, except good metal

I got mine lime blastered which i believe is less agressive than sand (don't quote me on that) and after if there was some heavily rusty bits they got hit with the sand.

But like most things it's down to the operator.

Garnet is perfectly legal to use. 

 

"sand blasting" is actually "media blasting using garnet"

 

Just one of those pet hate word plays of mine, being in the industry.

its good from the littl bit ive used it, cleans up old motorbike part nicely.

I would never do a whole car with it, as the dust is very very dangerous. Unless you want to work on and drive your car wearing a mask haha.
