after reading australian muscle car mag issue 120 the oriental express, i noticed he said he did a vic roads search and it came back as first rego KSA 302..so i did the same search but got a different answer to what was claimed in the mag..heres the results using his rego number IHN-781

Attached File  IHN-1A.png   113.16K   25 downloads

Attached File  IHN-2A.png   278.84K   21 downloads

Attached File  IHN-3A.png   265.68K   11 downloads

Attached File  IHN-4A.png   114.9K   13 downloads

so i did a search on KRT-513

Attached File  KRT-1A.png   615.64K   10 downloads

Attached File  KRT-2A.png   394.3K   24 downloads

Attached File  KRT-2A.png   394.3K   24 downloads

so his car is KRT-513 not KSA-302 as claimed in australian muscle car mag

note the selling dealers name on KRT-513 search

Every thing on that board is total lies and alot of bullshit.the best part is where he throw Ian tate under the bus for restarting the engine.
I've talked to Ian and showed him this board,he laughed and said (nothing is real about this car authenticity of claiming to be ksa 302)
As for the poorly stamped engine number aswell he had a good laugh and said( whom ever restarted it doesn't and haven't got a clue on 3100x prefer numbers

I've been told the body shell is a 1969 or early 1970 but it has a 9/70 chassis number. The fake KSA 302 isn't even the real XU1 he is trying to pass off as KAS 302.

As noted on another online platform, jump to 15m 45secs in this movie, and be amazed at the mixed field, including the XU1 in question.

There are two Torana enthusiasts that I know of who have both stated the upper rebound bump stops are mounted to the side of the front chassis rails above the upper control arms. As you would know this design was obsolete before the XU1 went into production.

When were the chassis rail bump stops discontinued?
My LC has them.

GMH gave the VIN breakpoints as being during May 1970.

Correction to my previous post. They are compression bump stops not rebound.

I believe they were discontinued around 3rd or 4th month 1970.

That's what I thought too however the PSN numbers that GMH have quoted as being the breakpoints for the change in production at three of the five assembly plants are cars that were completed in May 1970.

One of the three was completed on the 01/05/1970 so it is highly likely it will be complianced as 4/70.

Dumb question maybe...but if the yellow car was pranged ( nose first?) in Maccau, could it have simply had an early model front grafted onto it as a repair job?.
Thus inheriting the '69 type identifiers?

82911CL158049 is not the XU1 that was 1st registered as KSA 302 and it has never been to Macau.

It is possible that XU1 82911CL158049  Chassis No.16500A has had an early front cut fitted (for whatever reason) and the chassis number grafted into the replacement front cut but my money is on it being a re-shell.

Would be interesting to hear him explain his way out of this.

Poor ol' HF will get thrown under the bus for sure just so he can play the innocent victim.

Wrong S pack
You can clearly see where the bump stops have been cut away and grinded flat, has a 69 k frame and no mounting hole for the proportion
valve, I also pointed it out to a friend who had the stored when he put in hiding from vcs

The car still had 69 upper control arms fitted to it back in 2011 myths and legends torana fest which made me look further on the car, issues in the boot compartment aswell, sent clear photos to a lc guru of keys point from a 69 shell to 70 shell with comforming its a a 69 shell

I was merely stating what I was told. So they have been cut away. Still proves they were there once upon a time.

And poorly done at that too.
It came onto the scene at toranafest 2011 myths and legends
And that is all this car is myth
